Pop’n Music Zizz

Phantom man who practices mysterious magic and creates dolls as his hobby. Extremely passionate about his craft, even going as far as to try to bring his dolls to life!

His character is known for being “ground-breaking”, due to his moral event horizon. He can be shipped with Nyami or Mimi and even MZD!

Character description

Zizz is a mysterious magician with a passion for singing voices who appears in Konami’s Pop’n Music rhythm games, where he often stands out as one of the hardest characters. His haunted yet mysterious personality stands in stark contrast to other Bemani characters’ more upbeat natures, and makes for an intriguing contrast within the series’ cheerful vibes. Additionally, Zizz has proven popular within fandom making multiple fanart appearances; bearing strong similarities to The Phantom of the Opera’s protagonist he could have even inspired it?

He is a man with pale green skin wearing a white half mask, his eyes being empty black with an eerie smile. His black hat boasts an elaborate dark red plume while his cape fades into black, his shoes being pointed, his belt having gold buttons, his cape red with fades into black, gold buttons on jacket, gold belt and buttons in belt and on jacket as well as gold buttons in belt and buttons; gold staff with golden top used to perform magic spells as his weapon of choice;

Pop’n Music offers multiple game modes for players to experience: Enjoy Mode (beginner notes and easy chords), 5-line Mode (for five buttons), Normal, Hyper/EXtra Mode, which add new notes or harder chords and increases game difficulty; as a challenge for themselves they can strive to beat all these modes, increasing their score and their chances of earning a Clear medal medal.

Pop’n Music Animelo 2, the follow-up to Pop’n Music, was released on February 4, 2010. This game includes more licensed songs – anime and television show themes alike – with its own interface and graphic style, double or triple mode playing capability and additional buttons required to hit each note.

As in other Bemani games, Pop’n Music features a “Groove Gauge” which measures the player’s performance. By continuously playing correct notes, this gauge rises. When the gauge reaches its maximum value it turns “Great,” providing a small boost to both score and win animation for each character in play.

Appearance

Zizz is an enigmatic gentleman who practices magic and creates dolls as a hobby. Typically seen wearing an elaborate black robe with white trim and white hat with an attached scepter in his right hand, he’s often found surrounding Navi and occasionally sailing together but can sometimes cause disruption during ALT mode games if left alone for too long. Zizz tends to hide his dark side from others but awaits any opportunity he gets to reveal it himself.

Pop’n Music Zizz has long been controversial due to its art style; many fans were not fond of its unique aesthetic. To appease fans’ displeasure, its design has been changed in pop’n Music Peace; gameplay now involves letter-based ranks instead of grids; while character portraits feature traditional art styles similar to earlier pop’n Music titles.

Furthermore, this game introduced an “Enjoy Mode”. Designed specifically to cater to beginner pianists, Enjoy Mode provides a simplified environment where songs are limited, note charts are simplified, and points are deducted only when any missed notes occur – marking it the first time ever that such an exclusively beginner mode has been added as part of its main title!

As of this writing, Pop’n Music 20 fantasia has introduced a controversial feature called COOL judgement. This can cause scores that would normally have been considered perfect to suddenly drop below average because the player enabled COOL; this has resulted in many player complaints specifically in ALT mode.

The game features an eclectic variety of songs and characters from outside BEMANI. In addition, remixes of popular BEMANI tracks as well as several unlicensed tracks can also be found here, along with unused ones like Nyami variants of Minashigo Hutch from Thunder Birds as well as Oedo Hanafubuki Teyan-day MIX with its MZD variant and various others found here (file 6 has unused characters used for Ojama Teitosukuri artist graphics).

Voices

Zizz is an intriguing phantom gentleman with a deep interest in voices. His half mask is white with empty black mouth and facial features, creating an unnerving and menacing image. Additionally, his win animation in Pop’n Music 9 FEVER as well as loss animation show his passion for puppetry making. Perhaps taking cues from The Phantom of the Opera himself, Zizz could draw inspiration to create puppets resembling himself for win animation wins and loss animation losses in pop’n Music 9 FEVER and loss animations within same game! He may draw inspiration from The Phantom himself; as evident by his mysterious and menacing appearance as well as desire to create puppets resembling him!

Pop’n music zizz follows in the tradition of other Bemani games by employing a machine design featuring nine buttons laid out over two rows (five buttons have since been relocated to the top). Color-coded notes fall from the sky in nine columns and when they reach the bottom line can be pressed upon for pressing to activate sound effects in songs being played; each button or panel triggers sound effects from within them, making this game relatively easier compared to most Bemani titles as songs typically consist of few chords that require only few buttons than many of their peers.

Pop’n Music series are well known for their “keysounded” gameplay, in which missing steps during a song results in its respective sound not playing back. While this can make the games challenging for newcomers or people unfamiliar with rhythm games in general, it also serves to make these titles more accessible to people who may not enjoy challenging rhythm games like beatmania IIDX or reFLEC BEAT.

Pop’n Music 20 fantasia and beyond differs from previous titles in its franchise in that it does not utilize Navi as its character portrait provider; however, its characters still possess individual personalities with recognisable appearances.

Even though this installment lacks a growth system and Navi, many fans have enjoyed this installment of the series. This may be attributed to its wide selection of anime/television show licensed songs as well as its more relaxed pacing; and unlike most other titles in this series, this version includes an optional “double”/”triple” mode which adds one or two extra notes per chord; intended initially to allow multiple players to join forces simultaneously but since has also proven popular among single-player audiences.

Ability

BEMANI’s Pop’n Music rhythm games feature an in-game score system known as the Groove Gauge that serves to assess player performance. Hitting notes consistently raises or lowers it; poor performances reduce it. The gauge appears at the bottom of the screen alongside song titles and characters’ icons; in addition, players may select different options via either their Options menu or pressing both yellow buttons on mode selection screen to change colors of icons as desired.

Pop’n Music Lapistoria features a selection of songs that can be enjoyed across multiple game modes and difficulty settings, as well as different levels of difficulty settings. Expert Mode offers a unique gaming style featuring fixed song lists with “Cool” accuracy ratings that don’t disqualify or reduce scores; originally introduced in Pop’n Music 18 Sengoku Retsuden but temporarily retired until its return with Pop’n Music Lapistoria’s release in 2017.

At your disposal are several playable characters beyond the classic duo of Mimi and Nyami: each can be unlocked through various in-game methods, each boasting their own special ability displayed as an animated symbol in the bottom corner of the screen – this usually serves to represent their specialization such as music or dancer.

Some abilities are tied into the theme of a game, like Zizz’s mask use in Himouto! Umaru-chan. Other abilities such as creating illusions or fake puppets of players can be seen during loss/win animations for each character.

As with most BEMANI games, its cutesy art style is often an area of contention among Western players. This is particularly evident with recent releases featuring an art style which some find too feminine for some fans. Furthermore, using Beatmania-esque bichromic notes instead of standard four-color pop’n music notes has caused considerable debate among high-level players as this can make songs more difficult to clear than they had anticipated.

Zizz is an elusive ghost who practices magical mystery. He collects dolls as a hobby and has an unpredictable dark side; base-breaking Zizz has long been beloved by players who ship him with ALT.

Pop’n Music 5 introduced this feature for keeping track of GREATs and GOODs; Pop’n Music 7 brings this functionality back.

He is a puppeteer

The Phantom Gentleman Zizz is an unsettling character who collects dolls. Though appearing charming and refined, he practices dark magic by crafting dolls which resemble people he knows; sometimes replacing them without anyone realizing. But be wary; Zizz may use his collection to steal money from players!

Zizz’s jacket and beret in the 2P color palette has been changed to white while his pants and shoes remain black. His eye on his mask is red while his bow and beret plume are bright blue; additionally he wears a long cape ranging in hue from deep red to light blue; finally carrying an ornate black scepter with gold top and stripes across its hat are also distinctive features of his costume.

Pop’n Music 20 fantasia provides high-level players with an alternative win/lose animation for ALT that takes into account his interaction with other characters during songs; it appears he may be trying to manipulate ALT; thus requiring them to decide whether to save him or not.

Though not the only character in pop’n music to display a darker side, he stands out. His potential for evil has been clearly stated and he actively attempts to take over control of ALT during matches; making him a base-breaking character.

One source of contention with the game’s cutesy art style, which many fans find dissatisfying. Though not as divisive as Touhou Project’s art style, its popularity remains highly controversial – some adore its adorable charm while others would rather see something more mature or manly like Rated M for Manly instead.

Pop’n Music used to feature an event called ee’MALL (potsupun ee’Mall). To unlock songs and charts, KONAMI required players to use an e-AMUSEMENT key. Unfortunately, they discontinued this feature early 2006. In addition to these unlocks, players could earn additional e-AMUSEMENT by fulfilling certain requirements during play that appeared as 5×5 grids; every time five lines aligned successfully they’d unlock something – including new songs or expert courses! KONAMI discontinued this feature early 2006.

He collects dolls

The character collects dolls as a hobby. He uses magic to transform living beings into dolls and seems to enjoy this activity; it appears he takes great pleasure from this. However, it seems he often steals away their singing voices as part of this transformation process. Additionally, it appears he takes great pleasure from collecting his collection, creating new ones himself as seen in pop’n music 9 FEVER’s loss animation where four small replicas resemble him!

Pop’n Music series is known for its vibrant colors, upbeat songs, and adorable cartoon character graphics. It has several spin-offs including two games for VMU and PocketStation handheld memory cards as well as PlayStation and Nintendo DS releases; moreover, beginners may also appreciate its content that provides easier difficulty levels while providing greater challenge levels than many rhythm games currently on the market.

This edition of Pop’n Music series marked its inaugural introduction of an all-new opening sequence, including MZD, RETSU, HIUMI, FUGA, RINKA and Nia. Furthermore, Nyami received her own unique sprite. Mimi and Nyami are frequently seen together and many viewers perceive them as having some form of lesbian attraction or relationship chemistry.

As well as the main characters, other characters have received new sprites and animations. Teruo from Jian Dan naShi dakedoDa Qie namono and huripasu now has a white coat instead of black and wears a beret with red plume as well as having longer hairstyle and new outfit. Kagome also wears longer black dresses adorned with blue accents in her outfits.

Pop’n Music Portable was initially released for PlayStation Portable on February 4, 2010 as an adaptation of Pop’n Music 15 Adventure, with similar controls to that game and DLC songs added as DLC downloads. A sequel, Pop’n Music Portable 2, was then released on November 23, 2011 featuring five additional songs as well as five buttons instead of nine for charts.

He is a villain

Zizz is an antagonist from the Pop’n Music rhythm games series. He acts as a puppeteer who creates dolls of various people he encounters and then subsumes their bodies into puppeteer dolls he controls. Zizz has a creepy appearance and has taken control of ALT at one point to force her into doing things she would normally never do – this has made for several songs featuring Zizz which makes him an important canonical figure in Pop’n Music history.

Pop’n music games follow a familiar gameplay model, where players select a character and use that character to compose songs using nine buttons and two multitouch panels (with pop’n music 19 TUNE STREET adding another multitouch panel), color-coded notes (known in-game as “Pop-kun”) fall from above the screen onto buttons in order to complete songs.

As is typical of Bemani games, player performance is measured using the Groove Gauge. When hitting correct notes consistently, this gauge increases and more points are earned – when it reaches the top bar it signifies victory! In addition, many songs in Pop’n Music Series feature special Fever Mode where flashy notes and animation make for an exhilarating musical experience!

Pop’n music games have always offered various modes to help newcomers ease into the game more quickly. Beginning with pop’n music 12 Iroha’s release, Enjoy Mode has been added. It offers a simplified song list, simple note charts and less complex grading system; plus there’s 5-line mode and Hyper Modes featuring harder chords and additional notes!

Pop’n music is an immensely popular rhythm video game series in Japan, boasting 22 home releases and 30 mainline arcade versions since 1999. These titles are known for their bright colors and upbeat songs, charming character graphics, and multiple modes that offer players hours of gameplay fun!

He is a base-breaking character

Zizz is an elusive gentleman who practices magic, who takes great pleasure in creating dolls that not only resemble him, but are alive! In addition, he excels at conjuring illusions and false puppets of himself as well as turning living people into dolls for his projects – as seen in pop’n music 9 FEVER’s miss animation segment!

In this game, he wears pale green skin and a half-mask with empty black eyes and mouth forming an eerie smile. His hat sports a dark red plume while his cape fades from white into black; tunic shirt shoes and cape are black; tunic, shirt scepter are gold with tops and stripes and his belt and finger have gold rings to complete his attire.

Basebreaker can be an extremely frustrating character to play against, and is also one of the most dangerous characters in the game – easily breaking any rhythm through his multiple attacks and creating multiple copies of himself to disrupt scoreboards and disrupt gameplay.

Zizz is an intriguing character in pop’n music beyond his base-breaking skills. His story stands out from that of other characters and acts as an effective adversary to challenge players; additionally, his presence adds drama for those watching and following their lives unfold in real time.

This game marks a first in the series by featuring a Story Mode that encompasses most of its songs, while simultaneously showing player combos directly above pop-kun hits, with some effects having reversal effects added for some effects. Furthermore, Course Mode replaces Expert Mode as part of its arcade version.

As opposed to previous games, this version does not incorporate new 2P palettes for all debut characters (with the exception of Lapistoria), nor most recurring ones; their original color schemes remain intact instead.
