Electronic music differs from its classical counterpart in that it uses electronics instead of string or piano instruments for composition. Electronics became an affordable solution for composers in the 60s and 70s when synthesizers became readily available as composition tools.

Good Room
Irish children living during the 1950s and 60s regarded the “good room” as an altar to refined taste, yet its presence was forbidden to anyone who wasn’t permitted entry. A place dedicated to propriety yet seemingly charged with sexual tension.
Good Room in Greenpoint provides an atmosphere combining traditional Greenpoint bar culture with nightclub-esque vibes. It hosts exciting musical acts and dance parties with its large DJ booth and stage setting; additionally, there is a separate room equipped with a massive bar.
Greenpointers have enjoyed this Greenpoint spot ever since it opened its doors in 2014. One of only a handful of bars to remain open during the pandemic, its staff have worked hard to cover 18 months’ rent and operating costs with local DJ events that feature Tim Reaper playing his signature back-to-back set at their event to raise money and hopefully cover their bills. They will reopen in September with Tim Reaper returning for another set as an artist-in-residence at their club opening night party.
Marquee
Spotify provides artists with a tool called Marquee to help them gain listeners. This full-screen visual ad alerts listeners about new releases by artists they follow or regularly listen to, with advanced targeting capabilities making sure only relevant users see it and increasing the chance of turning new listeners into dedicated fans.
The word marquee is commonly associated with event venues or locations, but its definition also spans other contexts. According to Oxford English Dictionary it refers to large tents used for social and commercial functions; alternatively it can refer to specific locations like theaters, movie screens or illuminated signs outside stores and restaurants.
Marquee is a full-screen sponsored recommendation on Spotify that helps promote new singles, EPs, and albums. It is an effective way of reaching and turning listeners into fans by drawing their attention to your music at times when they are most open to discovering it – listeners who see a Marquee are two times more likely to save new tracks to their playlists and three times more likely to stream older releases as well.
With so many advertising options available to musicians, it can be daunting trying to select the appropriate ones for their music. Marquee is one such tool which has gained immense popularity among musicians but may prove expensive for smaller independent artists as its pay-per-click model means more spend = greater exposure for music.
Verlaine and Lloyd abandoned contemporary punk rock’s power chords for more traditional rock and jazz-influenced interplay, and integrated musical elements such as counter-melodies and melodic lines into Marquee Moon. As a result, this album features complex instrumental parts, lyrics that explore themes of adolescence, transcendence, and discovery; as well as imagery inspired by Lower Manhattan geography and references within lyrics themselves.
