The Rock Music School

the rock music school

Attaining equality in music education, this program allows children to discover instruments with their peers and perform. From guitar, bass, drums or keyboards – learners can select their chosen instrument.

Students will study key musical figures who shaped rock and pop music during this unit of work. Middle schoolers will have an opportunity to understand and appreciate these artists’ legacies.

Especially Kids Rock

Music education can be an elusive luxury for many children. Formal school music programs, campfire drum circles or simply listening to great songs at home – it has been shown that kids who learn how to play music benefit in terms of increased perseverance and cognitive development as well as spatial-temporal thinking skills. Unfortunately, however, accessing musical instruction is becoming increasingly difficult: many public school students cannot afford music lessons due to budget cuts and influenza pandemic reduction; also private instructors do not always provide instruments when needed by these kids.

Local musicians are helping children in foster care discover their inner musical maker through A Chance to Rock, a nonprofit founded by Nelda Studios, The Buckman Fund and Austin Angels that offers free music lessons and instruments. As part of its fundraising efforts, musical superstars such as Kathy Valentine of Go-Go’s, Ray Benson from Asleep at the Wheel and Adrian Quesada from Black Pumas recorded personal testimonies that can be found on A Chance to Rock’s website.

Foster care children often benefit immensely from learning an instrument, especially those in foster care. Music helps teach these youngsters about relationships – not only within a band or orchestra but within families as a whole as well. Children this age love puzzles and seeing how each part comes together, which makes harmonies, which means playing music without speaking, so much fun!

Rockband

Rock U classes provide an exciting and creative way to learn how to play in a band, teaching students the responsibilities and rewards of teamwork while providing access to songs they wouldn’t otherwise learn by themselves, as well as learn to perform for an audience. Both four month programs feature weekly three hour group rehearsals as well as two concerts; in order to participate guitar and piano students must know basic chords as well as be able to keep a rhythm.

Private Lessons

Students at this school may enroll in either private lessons to learn their instrument of choice, or join one of several bands offered at the school. Our instructors are experienced professionals that offer beginner to advanced lessons tailored to individual student needs – we are trained to encourage young minds while helping our musical enthusiasts find their passion! Music lessons teach children and adults important life skills while simultaneously expanding connections in the brain – studies have reported improved spatial reasoning skills, test scores and more in those taking musical lessons!

School offers lessons on guitar, bass, piano, drums, vocals and other instruments such as vocals. Classes typically last 45 minutes once every week from Sunday through Thursday evenings and afternoons; once registered for a program instructors will select an available time slot that best meets their schedules.

Additionally, our school offers group lessons for both kids and adults of similar skill levels, giving students an opportunity to collaborate together while learning from one another. Group lessons provide a great way for participants to engage with a musical community and meet new friends.

At school, musicians are encouraged to participate in rock bands that allow them to experience performing live. These bands consist of students at various stages in their musical education; those most skilled musicians may even compete in a Battle of the Bands event where they vie for cash prizes while showcasing their talents at local venues.

Performance

Rock Music School performance lessons are tailored to provide students with a taste of playing in a band environment. The program even encourages creativity among participants through workshops where kids create songs from scratch!

Students also record and perform at local venues with their original music, recording themselves or with another group if needed. Furthermore, School of Rock students are strongly encouraged to enter Milwaukee Summerfest’s annual Battle of the Bands competition for cash prizes; over 200 School of Rock locations have participated so far!

Rock Music School offers performance classes for students of all ages. Monthly costs cover tuition, with students choosing between individual lessons or band membership – lessons typically last 45 minutes each week while rehearsals take 90 minutes. A Music Director oversees and prepares their band for live performance; typically this consists of rhythm guitar, lead guitar and bass with someone covering vocal duties within. Other instruments may be added such as keyboards or drums.

School of Rock was featured prominently in the film School of Rock. Shot around New York City and specifically at Wagner College on Staten Island where many hallway scenes were captured for this production, much of the movie took place there.
