Brutal Death Metal Band Party Cannon

Party Cannon are an infectiously cheerful death metal band with an infectious sense of fun. At Bay Area Deathfest 2, their inflatable lettering stood out, but that didn’t get in the way of them producing incredible riffs.

Seven years have passed since Bong Hit Hospitalisation was released, yet that time did not alter their style of music making. Instead, they’ve stuck with what worked well while gradually perfecting it.

‘Volumes Of Vomit’

Party Cannon are Scottish party-slam legends who produce some of the coolest slamming metal around. On this Gore House Productions release they deliver 9 tracks of mind-numbing slamming sickness, mass-gaining gym riffs and irresponsibly fast blast beats that pay tribute to Dani Filth in less-than-subtle style on ‘I Believe in Dani Filth’ – in their signature over the top fashion.

Party Cannon stands out from the pack with their playful visuals and whimsical song titles, yet are serious about creating death metal music. Their album of monstrous death metal carnage stands testament to this.

Brutal slam metal is an aggressive subgenre of heavy music that doesn’t focus on originality or progression as much as on sheer, relentless brutality. Volumes of Vomit is an outstanding example of this style with their thick meaty riffs, squealing pinch harmonics and guttural grunts – not too mention their powerful vocals which deliver vicious punches against any listener that listens.

What’s particularly captivating is their ability to make you feel like you are right there with them when they play, without resorting to studio effects that replicate live metal music. Party Cannon has taken great care in remaining authentic in this respect – giving the impression that you are actually present at their shows among a sea of sweaty fans screaming their hearts out at Party Cannon!

Although some tracks might feel too short, overall this album provides a solid demonstration of this band’s talent. Unfortunately, though, its slow and overbearing breakdowns often feel unnecessary and seem less impressive when they occur more frequently than they should.

Party Cannon stands out in an ever-increasing world of slam metal releases as something truly different, offering unrestrained energy and pushing boundaries – creating an enjoyable listening experience that may not appeal to everyone, yet is worth your consideration if you enjoy this genre.

‘Bong Hit Hospitalisation’

Bong Hit Hospitalisation was Party Cannon’s debut full-length and has been out for almost seven years, which is quite an impressive accomplishment in any genre – particularly one as dense as brutal death metal.

Since their establishment, Decapitated have earned recognition for their IQ-lowering brutal death metal, live performances and crowd participation antics. Touring alongside iconic acts like Gwar, Decapitated and Cattle Decapitation; performing at festivals across the globe and attending tours alongside them has further cemented this reputation.

Volumes Of Vomit marks another triumphant record from these self-described party slam loons, continuing their relentless pace while creating an album aptly named Volumes Of Vomit that strikes an excellent balance between heavy music and playful comedy – something Chris feels is second nature for them.

‘Partied In Half’

Party Cannon combines technical skill with raw emotional force in its sound, drawing a large following of devoted fans from Dunfermline, Scotland. Their music features intense breakdowns and persistent blast rhythms as well as aggressive riffs and angry vocals for its signature sound; their performances are riveting live experiences not suitable for faint of heart! Party Cannon music can only be described as heavy yet brutal; not suitable for the fainthearted!

Since 2010, Bong Hit Hospitalisation, the self-proclaimed party slam band has been performing. Their most recent album release features hyper-speed slamming sickness. While most know them for their clever song titles and distinctive logo, Bong Hit Hospitalisation provides more than just goofy humor.

This album is an absolute blast, featuring groovy brutal death metal with beachball-heavy beachball bouncy riffs, booming twangy bass lines, relentless blasting from drummer Count Blastula’s blasts, blow-up doll-sized pinch harmonics, gut rattling cavernous growls, and plenty more to boot. A record guaranteed to shatter skulls while keeping people entertained!

Party Cannon stands out as a rare exception – using children’s birthday party invitations as inspiration, they use them to craft an absolutely brilliant logo design reminiscent of their style of metal music.

Party Cannon boasts an extensive tour schedule and participate in some of the world’s premier festivals, earning themselves a loyal fan base who follow them wherever they go – sure to satisfy heavy metal music enthusiasts alike! Their latest album can be found either on Bandcamp or Gorehouse for purchase.

‘Party Promo’

Party Cannon of Scotland have become one of the most distinctive outfits in brutal death metal with their catchy logo, making them hard to miss. Party Cannon know how to party, making no bones about it. Their music is fast, pummeling and brutal; subverting goregrind tropes while injecting neon paint. Their sophomore full-length release Perverse Party Platter takes their touring spirit one step further by pushing them even further than before.

Although their unorthodox branding might appear frivolous, there’s actually some practical reasoning behind it. Being a touring-centric band, having an easier to pronounce name helps audiences outside their native country easily identify with them on festival lineup posters abroad. Chris ‘Clankenstein’ notes this.

Not that they don’t have their own sense of humor – as can be seen from song titles and album art – it just that their sense of wit is not overbearing; their humor serves to highlight their harsh, aggressive music instead. Their opening track on record, “Russian Zombie Smack”, sets an icy-cool atmosphere with its harsh guitar riff and cavernous growl before ending on a rampaging breakdown that crashes like an avalanche.

“Jack vs the Exotic Crustacean” is another standout track, with its grunting vocals and crushing riffs. At their best, this band shines when they can hammer out an unexpected chord progression with intense instrumentals while simultaneously unleashing unrestrained sound waves – slower and suffocating breakdowns can become a weakness on this album.

Party Cannon aren’t simply an entertaining band with an awesome logo – their album, Volumes Of Vomit, showcases this fact perfectly. These musicians are an impressive collective who push death metal boundaries without fear. Not to be missed and sure to reach a wider audience via this new release.
