Key West Songwriters Festival
The Key West Songwriters Festival is an immersive five-day music event featuring singer-songwriters in intimate acoustic settings. Over 250 songwriters – both experienced professionals and up-and-coming talent – gather at this laidback island setting for an unforgettable musical experience. Current chart toppers as well as future stars perform across genres like pop rock country jazz.
This event takes place across various venues on the island, from waterfront resorts and beach bars to boutique inns and historic theaters. Artists have an opportunity to present their songs and share stories behind them during songwriter rounds at this festival; audiences can attend shows for as little as $10; with most concerts held free at Rams Head Southernmost Bar & Restaurant as festival headquarters.
Full schedules of events can be found online; concert tickets typically sell out quickly so be sure to purchase early. This festival raises funds for local charities while simultaneously benefiting songwriters (many who often work uncompensated), Key West residents, and volunteer programs in general.

Key West’s music scene is flourishing thanks to the efforts of both local musicians and national touring acts that visit. Over recent years, Key West has become a hub for musicians, with venues opening just for them to play at. Key West’s rich musical history also influences contemporary performers; examples can be seen during performances at events like songwriters’ festival or Key West Blues Fest.
