Country music will take center stage this New Year’s Eve at CBS’ Nashville’s Big Bash special, as Jimmie Allen, Elle King and Entertainment Tonight’s Rachel Smith take the stage during this five-hour event.

This event will broadcast from Nashville’s Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park and feature a live countdown to midnight for both Eastern and Central time zones.

New Year’s Eve is an iconic country music event and Nashville stars have been busy. Many will appear on multiple New Year’s Eve specials; one such special will air live at 8 p.m. ET on December 31 and include Thomas Rhett, Lainey Wilson and Lynyrd Skynyrd performing as they countdown towards midnight with Nashville’s iconic note drop countdown!

Parker McCollum stands out as an innovative country music singer-songwriter with his distinct sound that sets him apart from other artists. His most recent release “To Be Loved By You” showcases this talent; its lyrics speak directly to various listeners while its roots lie deep within classic country music’s genres that helped form his musical style as a child working at his grandfather’s ranch and listening to classic country hits shaped his musical identity.

McCollum is currently out touring to promote his latest album, Hollywood Gold. He has opened for other big name acts such as Sam Hunt and Dierks Bentley on tour. Additionally, he’s working on various musical projects with fellow musicians; plans to release several EPs starting with “Probably Wrong Sessions 1” later this summer are currently in progress.

He has also collaborated with fellow Texas singer-songwriters, and recently released an acoustic version of his popular tune “Hell of a Year,” available for free download from his website.

This acoustic version features the same vocals and guitar from its original recording, providing fans a chance to hear it in a different setting and fully experience its story.

This year’s New Year’s Eve Live will bring over 50 performers from venues all across Nashville together in one show at Nashville’s Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park for its mainstage performance. Previous performers have included Kelsea Ballerini, Brooks & Dunn and Little Big Town among many others; Elle King will host alongside Entertainment Tonight’s Rachel Smith; Lonnie Quinn will appear and synchronized performances by Nashville Symphony Orchestra will round out an unforgettable evening!

Nashville’s Big Bash

Nashville’s Big Bash will feature only country music artists for New Year’s Eve, and will include chart-topping stars like Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Little Big Town, Brooks & Dunn and Thomas Rhett as its headliners. In addition to performing together as one band or artist will team up with friends or musical peers on special performances as part of its unique collaborations – and special guests such as Cody Alan from CMT SiriusXM as well as Lonnie Quinn from WCBS will also attend.

This five-hour broadcast will air live from Nashville’s Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park, starting with midnight counting down and then continuing the party through Nashville’s iconic Midnight Music Note Drop with over 50 hits from country music’s home state of Tennessee.

CBS announced new performers for their program on Wednesday morning, including country music superstar Morgan Wallen as part of their talent rollout. Old Dominion, Elle King Thomas Rhett and Lynyrd Skynyrd also made appearances.

CBS will again host Nashville’s tourism and entertainment agency, Visit Music City, for their Big Bash concert event this year, offering hours of music from country artists as well as fireworks display and Music Note Drop festivities that could draw tens of thousands. CBS anticipates hosting this annual concert event!

At this year’s Big Bash, numerous sustainability initiatives will be put in place by its producers and local partners to reduce waste and support community sustainability efforts. They will host an “No Styrofoam” station for fans who bring in their own reusable cups or containers as well as recycle cardboard, aluminum and plastic at the event; furthermore they encourage biodegradable plates and food containers while giving any unfinished meals away to local charities.

The Big Bash will feature a Family Fun Zone filled with activities for all ages. This will include bounce houses and interactive games, photo opps and selfie stations as well as ASL viewing area. In addition, Jason Eskridge of Country Artistry fame and Tim Gent and Daisha McBride will make special guest appearances.
