SoulCycle is more than a workout; it’s an international phenomenon! Call it what you will: lightning in a bottle or something else entirely, but SoulCycle has taken off like wildfire over the past decade or so, with over 14,000 classes taught worldwide every week!
But how much does a class cost and how can I enroll? The company offers two membership packages and class packs; both expire after 12 months but classes can be transferred if you move, die, or become disabled.
How much does a class cost?
Soul Cycle offers more than just an exercise regime – it’s an immersive experience! In an intimate studio full of candlelight and led by expert instructors, Soul Cycling lets you surrender to music while getting lost in the moment – only emerging stronger than before!
Classes range in cost between $28 and $40, but you can save 5-15% by purchasing class packs. Packs have an expiration date that ranges from 14 days for five or fewer classes to three months depending on what type of pack is purchased. In addition, Soul Renew membership costs between 59-109.
Soul Cycle classes can be paid for online, through the Soul Cycle app or directly at our studios. Credit and debit cards as well as cash and checks are accepted; to pay with credit card in person at our studios please bring in your membership number so they can apply it to your account; otherwise for payments made with checks/cash we must receive them two business days before your ride date begins.
If you plan to attend a Soul Early class, you can reserve your bike early for just $15 by using the website or app. Cancellations made before 5 PM will return that fee back into your series account; after this timeframe however, fees cannot be returned; only exceptions exist such as cancellation of class due to instructor change and instructor replacement refunds are applicable.
Arrive 15 minutes early for your Soul Cycle ride so you’re comfortable on a bike and properly fitted for your shoes – shoe rentals are available at the studio, though bringing your own is preferable as you will likely sweat more in class than expected. How do I sign up for a class?
SoulCycle classes combine cardio and strength training on stationary bikes under the instruction of passionate instructors set to hip-hop or rock music, designed to be both fun and effective – something people tend to find appealing as it has become popular with celebrities, athletes and fitness-lovers alike.
If this is your first class, prepare to sweat profusely! Studios are typically dark, and instructors guide participants through choreography based on the rhythm of music. Classes typically consist of sprints, hills, jogs, and jumps with an instructor leading riders while encouraging them to ride together on beat.
Newcomers to an exercise class should arrive 15 minutes early in order to complete a waiver and get an overview of both studio and bike setup, before reserving a spot near the center in one of its rows – it’s essential that they do this quickly as studios may fill up fast during peak times!
SoulCycle’s appeal lies in its exclusive nature as an exercise experience. At its peak, attending SoulCycle was considered a status symbol; patrons would pay hundreds each month for unlimited classes; some even attended multiple times daily! Not to mention any additional costs like purchasing special sneaker or towel products!
SoulCycle classes were known for being expensive, requiring an intensive hiring and training process for instructors before being invited into one of these exclusive clubs – Beyonce was even known to attend classes regularly! If you made it in, however, it was an unforgettable experience with stars like Beyonce and Bradley Cooper among your fellow classmates!
But as it has grown, SoulCycle has become less exclusive–which could ultimately prove detrimental. When the cholera pandemic struck, classes were not as full; but former employees believe the virus just hastened SoulCycle’s inevitable decline. Since exclusivity is difficult to scale effectively with too many customers present at once, exclusivity will ultimately suffer as customers turn away from SoulCycle experience altogether.
How do I get a bike?
At its height of popularity, SoulCyle classes were nearly impossible to enter without prior invitation or word-of-mouth rumors. Wealthy, trendy, and fit New Yorkers ran in tight-knit cliques there; instructors would sell out 33 bikes within minutes of class time while people queued up in Escalades outside studios. SoulCyle also operated their second studio called The Barn which could accommodate 100 riders; its second location – located in Hamptons where wealthy Manhattanites retreat during summer – offered even greater options; here instructors would meet clients regularly for morning workout sessions before work.
Once inside, riders were treated to an unparalleled exercise experience that went far beyond traditional spin classes. By mixing popular culture music and inspirational coaching into each workout session, riders were transported beyond any warehouse gym experience and into something closer to studio fitness classes than warehouse gyms. Many riders paid hundreds per month and attended two or three classes daily with instructors curating high-energy playlists in candlelit rooms that created an authentic studio-like environment rather than warehouse gym atmosphere.
But instructors and their rider clients may reach an uncomfortable place. Rumors circulated among former employees have surfaced, as have several accounts from former employees that detail incidents of sexual harassment and bullying; for instance, one such former employee told Vox about an instructor at New York City location who threatened physical assault against clients who refused to book what is known as a “boyfriend bike” (ie in front of podium).
As well as these concerns, the company has also been accused of using its success to promote unhealthy habits such as overeating and overindulgence. But regardless of these allegations, the business continues to thrive with an ever-expanding customer base that embraces its aspirational fitness lifestyle – with 30+ class classes per month at studio locations and $2,500 bikes being more costly than cheaper studio competitors, but those able to afford them find that investing in such experience worth every penny.
New riders can experience the studio energy by registering for a free class online. After their initial session, newcomers can purchase single classes or take advantage of discounted class packs that contain five to 20 rides.
How do I cancel a class?
SoulCycle has become an international sensation, drawing in riders of all types for indoor cycling reinvented classes that combine energizing music, motivating instructors, and an atmosphere of community among riders. Class prices begin at $30; SoulCycle generates around $1,500,000 weekly through class alone alone! Plus additional revenue generated through merchandise sales as well as in-studio purchases like bottles of water and snacks!
But for many sensible people, paying that much for an hour-and-a-half sweat session seems absolutely absurd. And if SoulCycle isn’t your cup of tea, there are other great workout options out there at much less expense.
No penalties apply when canceling your membership with SoulCycle LLC; simply provide them with at least three business days’ notice and either mail or deliver written notification of cancellation to 609 Greenwich Street, New York 10014.
As soon as you cancel your contract, any unpaid class fees and unused classes will be refunded in full. However, if you move more than 25 miles from a SoulCycle LLC location, any unused classes won’t transfer. Furthermore, in cases of death or permanent disability (verifiable through medical documentation), cancellation can also occur by providing proof through a doctor’s certificate.
If you need to cancel your membership, locate the contact number for your local studio and make a phone call asking to speak with their customer care representative. Explain why you want to cancel and the representative should be able to assist.
One last point: SoulCycle reserves your bike through their website or app, but if it remains reserved after four minutes before class begins without being cancelled in time, SoulCycle may release it so other riders may use it instead. This policy ensures fairness for all riders and avoids situations in which you cannot take part in classes you had booked – should this ever become necessary it’s wise to notify both your instructor and other class participants in advance so they can inform everyone. If cancellation becomes necessary it would also be prudent to notify everyone involved so they can inform them so they can notify all members.
