Kool & the Gang
Since forming in 1964 as the Jazziacs in New Jersey, Kool and the Gang quickly established themselves as music artists. Although their first two LPs were minor hits, their third and fourth albums-Funky Stuff and Jungle Boogie-were chart hits. Subsequent releases also achieved Top 40 success, with another Grammy nominated album entitled Light of Worlds being recorded later on. When Rick West decided to pursue solo work instead of remaining with Kool & the Gang full time, Kool & the Gang hired former Temptation singer James “JT” Taylor as vocalist as vocalist to switch their sound away from instrumental funk towards danceable R&B grooves with catchy lyrics.
This pivot paid dividends. They scored several hit singles including Ladies’ Night, Too Hot, Get Down On It Joanna and Celebrate! which became an international celebration anthem.
Kool and the Gang remains active after years of membership shifts, still touring and performing their music through CD, digital download, iTunes, Amazon Music, as well as frequently being sampled in hip hop beats by hip hop artists as sample material. They stand as testament to music’s unifying force across generations and backgrounds.

Additionally, Dolly is known as an actress and philanthropist – she received many honors over her long career including an Emmy award and Living Legend Medal from Library of Congress.
Dolly Parton was born January 19, 1946, in Locust Ridge, Tennessee and began singing at six. Soon thereafter she started writing songs in high school before moving to Nashville where she performed locally on television and radio shows before debuting at Grand Ole Opry three years later.
Parton first achieved commercial success at 21 with “Here You Come Again,” an uptempo, bittersweet ballad that reached #1 both on country and pop charts. She would go on to achieve several additional crossover hits such as “It’s All Wrong But It’s Alright”, “Heartbreaker”, and “Sweet Summer Lovin'”.
Parton is an internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter and producer. In her illustrious career she has recorded more than 40 Top 10 country albums and 110 charted singles – earning numerous accolades such as being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and named a Kennedy Center Honoree.

Following his success as a musician, Marky Mark decided to transition into acting; his first big screen role came in Penny Marshall’s Renaissance Man (1994). C+C Music Factory

At its founding, the group consisted of two producers: Robert Clivilles and David Cole. Due to David Cole’s death, C+C Music Factory temporarily disbanded. Since then however, the group has seen revival.
Bruno Mars
Bruno Mars, known for his eclectic sound encompassing R&B, hip-hop and dance-rock influences, is a Grammy Award winning pop artist with an infectious hook that blends R&B, hip-hop and dance-rock influences into an infectious sound that spans multiple instruments as well as producing and choreographing his music videos. As an entertainer Bruno first rose to fame as a behind-the-scene songwriter before making his singing debut with 2010’s Doo_Wops & Hooligans which produced several hit singles including “Nothin’ on You”, “Grenade”, and “The Lazy Song”.
Born Peter Gene Hernandez of Honolulu, Hawaii, Mars began performing at local musical venues as an Elvis Presley impersonator at age four. Soon thereafter he moved to Los Angeles in pursuit of music career; there he joined production team The Smeezingtons.
Mars continued their success with 2016’s release of 24K Magic, an album inspired by 1990s R&B music that proved an enormous commercial hit and saw lead single “That’s What I Like” win multiple Grammy awards.
Mars joined Anderson.Paak to form Silk Sonic in 2021, performing at events such as the iHeartRadio Music Awards and BET Awards. Their rendition of “Leave the Door Open” at the 2021 American Music Awards was one of many highlights; their sultry vocals shone brightest of all!
