SiriusXM unveiled their 2021 Holiday music lineup today – their largest yet, including Holly and Holiday Traditions channels!
SiriusXM Holiday Music channels feature 15 commercial-free holiday music channels to give you all your holiday and Hanukkah favorites, available across car radio, mobile devices, connected home appliances and the SiriusXM app.
70s/80s Holidays
SiriusXM provides an assortment of holiday channels featuring music for Christmas, Hanukkah and other seasonal occasions – without advertisements – this season. These 17 channels include two new ones. Holiday Instrumentals and Noel Incontournable feature popular holiday songs with instrumental versions instead of vocal ones.
Rockin’ Xmas will feature rock classic Christmas songs from AC/DC, Bon Jovi, Paul McCartney, The Pretenders, U2, Tom Petty and REO Speedwagon as well as festive favorites by Elton John, Madonna and Hall & Oates – songs sure to bring joyous laughter in commercial-free mode until December 27.
Country Christmas will feature generations of country music artists such as Garth Brooks, Carrie Underwood and George Strait from now through Dec. 26 on both satellite radio and the app.
Holiday Pops will offer classical holiday classics performed by artists such as the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Luciano Pavarotti and New York Philharmonic – available all year long on both satellite radio and the app.
Kids Christmas will feature a selection of contemporary holiday songs suitable for children of all ages – including Mariah Carey, Post Malone and Pentatonix as well as Kelly Clarkson and Rod Stewart! It will make an unforgettable soundtrack for this magical time of the year.
Rockin’ Xmas
SiriusXM has begun rolling out 15 commercial-free holiday music channels this season, covering traditional holiday songs, classic Christmas carols, contemporary tunes, seasonal soul music, Hanukkah tunes and classical Christmas favorites. Broadcast began on Oct 25 and can be streamed or found via satellite radio.
Rockin’ Xmas features classic holiday songs with rock influences from artists like AC/DC, Elton John, Bon Jovi, The Jackson 5, Madonna Hall & Oates Twisted Sister and REO Speedwagon – among others! The channel will run until December 26th.
Holiday Soul features classic soul and Motown holiday tunes from the 1960s and ’70s from artists like Aretha Franklin, The Temptations and James Brown – as well as current hits by these artists! This channel runs until December 26.
Country Christmas features various generations of country holiday music by artists like Garth Brooks and Carrie Underwood spanning multiple generations from November 27 through December 27.
Kids Christmas will bring festive holiday tunes for all to enjoy via SiriusXM app and satellite radio from Dec. 28 until New Years.
Holiday Chill-Out
SiriusXM is excited to bring holiday music into homes this holiday season with 19 commercial-free channels dedicated to festive tunes. SiriusXM’s holiday lineup of channels features newly introduced ones such as Holiday Instrumentals and Noel Incontournable as well as crowd favorites such as Jolly Christmas, Rockin’ Xmas, and Holiday Soul channels – each designed for maximum holiday joy!
The Rockin’ Xmas channel showcases classic Christmas rock songs from AC/DC, Bon Jovi, U2, Twisted Sister, REO Speedwagon and others such as AC/DC’s Rockin’ Christmas album plus rare and live recordings by AC/DC, Bon Jovi, U2 Twisted Sister REO Speedwagon among many more. Jazz Holidays features jazz music from classic legends such as Ella Fitzgerald and the Count Basie Orchestra to contemporary jazz stars like Kenny G, Diana Krall, Wynton Marsalis, Dave Koz and Vince Guaraldi. Christmas with Mannheim Steamroller offers its distinctive mix of symphonic, new age, rock inspired Christmas music hosted by founder Chip Davis; Radio Hanukkah offers contemporary, traditional and children-centric Hanukkah selections as well as daily reflections and prayers on this Jewish holiday holiday.
Hallmark Channel Radio
As Halloween fades away and people prepare for Thanksgiving, Hallmark Channel Radio from SiriusXM offers listeners 24/7 holiday music.
Hallmark Channel Radio can be tuned into via SiriusXM radio, online and mobile app beginning November 1. This nonstop holiday music and specials stream will include popular Hallmark Channel stars Lacey Chabert, Torrey DeVitto and Andrew Walker discussing their favorite holiday songs and traditions as well as behind-the-scenes footage from new Countdown to Christmas movies.
Cool Jazz Christmas: Relax to smooth jazz instrumentals featuring classic holiday favorites by Dave Koz and other musicians, such as Christmas Spirit or Jolly Christmas from Alvin and the Chipmunks, Gene Autry, Mariah Carey or Jose Feliciano.
Family Christmas: Children’s favorites ranging from classic Christmas carols to today’s upbeat holiday tunes can be found on SXM App and channel 105 until December 27. Mary J. Blige adds her signature flare to Donny Hathaway’s classic soul song from the 1970s with this R&B holiday classic, adding extra zest. Mary croons about decking the halls with piles of money; in my estimation her rendition may well be the definitive rendition ever recorded.
Clarence Carter’s timeless classic “Back Door Santa” may not typically come to mind when one thinks of Christmas music, but it certainly deserves its place as one of the best holiday rap songs. High horns and a deep bassline enhance its lyrics about trying to get Santa Claus to bring what your loved ones desire – something many children found successful. If it didn’t work for you – well then, well you must have been particularly bad!
Country Christmas
Country music has long been associated with Christmas, as its influence can be heard in songs such as “All I Want for Christmas is You.” Additionally, its influence can be heard on television specials hosted by Trisha Yearwood like CMA Country Christmas featuring Kristin Chenoweth, Tori Kelly, Hillary Scott and CeCe Winans among many other talented artists.
