River City Soul Fest

Richmond Black Restaurant Experience’s annual festival brings my three favorite things together: music, beer and delicious food! Held annually at City Stadium and featuring various vendors and artists – guests can sample everything from southern fare to seafood and desserts while listening to DJs spin hip-hop and R&B tunes live! In addition, there is also a food truck court as well as live art installations.

River City Soul Fest 2017 features national gospel and R&B acts. Dottie Peoples will headline on Day 1, while Day 2 features SWV and Carl Thomas among many others.

Mya will perform on the R&B night of the festival alongside RL from NEXT and Sweet Diezel Jenkins, while Alynda Segarra has been described as modern Huck Finn who makes art that shows us there are always different paths ahead.

Gospel Fest

The McDonald’s Gospelfest is an annual concert that showcases some of the top gospel artists. Held annually during Mother’s Day weekend in Newark, NJ and originally started back in 1983 as a fundraiser for local communities; today it pays homage to legendary gospel figures such as Cissy Houston and Aretha Franklin as well as being open to anyone interested.

This year’s lineup features GRAMMY award-winning vocalist Donald Lawrence, spoken word artist Wordsmith, and powerhouse HBCU choirs from Morgan State University and Howard University – a stellar combination that will delight and uphold audiences alike. Additionally, gospel music icon Hezekiah Walker will perform alongside his Love Fellowship Choir; furthermore, we will honor their legacy with our event celebrating their legacy!

Anthony Brown & Group TherAPy, Bri Babineaux, DOE, Sir the Baptist, Mike Teezy and The Walls Group will also perform during this event to highlight McDonald’s ongoing support of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). At each concert stop, fans are encouraged to donate funds that support families served by their local Ronald McDonald houses.

Gospelfest has been held annually since 1983 and is one of the biggest gospel concerts in the country. A family-friendly event that honors excellence in faith-based music, this festival has seen several well-known gospel artists like Hezekiah Walker first debut at this concert over its five to seven hour span; acts typically perform for 30 minutes each.

The Gospel Fest lineup boasts some of the world’s top gospel musicians, offering a combination of contemporary and traditional sounds that is sure to please audiences of all types. Produced by Dennis Lee Edney who has won two Emmy Awards and eleven nominations – not to mention organizing many other events like Madison Square Garden performances with over 2000 voices singing gospel!

Attending Gospel Fest can be easily purchased online. The event will be hosted at Newark, NJ’s Prudential Center and accessible via public transit; general admission tickets and VIP packages are both available; clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags may be brought; however large backpacks or luggage will not be allowed into the venue.

Salem Jazz & Soul Festival

The Salem Jazz & Soul Festival is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization committed to enriching North Shore cultural life with free concerts that feature jazz and soul music from talented local performers. Furthermore, proceeds raised at each concert support music education initiatives throughout the region that aim at developing young musical talent.

This annual festival showcases various genres and is hosted in Salem, Massachusetts near Boston. Attracting thousands of visitors each year, thousands come out for a day-long concert at Salem Willows as well as other concerts and events held throughout the year – culminating with its main festival celebrating music’s power to unite communities through diversity.

This year’s festival is going back to its roots by reviving big band music at Salem Willows park. This event recreates and renews a vibrant jazz scene first established here during the 1920s by leaders of Big Band era musicians; soul and blues musicians from North Shore as well as beyond will also perform here.

Alongside great music, the festival will also host education workshops and a craft fair, along with food samples from local restaurants. This family-friendly event is sure to provide guests with an enjoyable day in Salem!

This festival will showcase five bands: HDRnB All Stars, Runaround Sound, Steve Lacey Quartet, Verdegree, and Salem High School Jazz Band. DJ Skot Void will serve as event emcee. Additionally, craft booths and a beer garden will be present.

Tickets to the festival can be purchased both online or at the door, with each ticket including access to an afterparty at Mercantile Exchange and souvenir program. Hosted by Salem Jazz & Soul Foundation with sponsor Tache Real Estate, Tache Real Estate also presents this event.

This event will showcase Black Southern artists who seamlessly cross genres to revive time-honored music traditions. Additionally, there will be food truck vending and art exhibits.

Martha’s Vineyard SoulFest

Martha’s Vineyard SoulFest offers you the chance to shake it. Featuring Raheem Devaughn, Angelena Hightower, Kevin Ross and Mike Rollins & Friends among many more performers, this summer festival on Martha’s Vineyard promises an unforgettable summer vacation experience.

The MV SoulFest lineup boasts artists from around the world, from Grammy-nominated singers and songwriters to gospel and funk genres. This year’s theme “Love of Music and Spirit of Martha’s Vineyard” celebrates Martha’s Vineyard’s rich musical diversity while providing numerous activities and events like art exhibits and food vendors throughout its three day event.

This event raises money for Cottagers Inc of MV, an historic non-profit that fosters education, culture and civic engagement. A portion of proceeds will be given directly to this cause – all attendees are encouraged to bring donations along in support of The Cottagers Inc of MV! In addition to raising funds for charity, SoulFest helps bring people together through its wide array of cultural and educational activities.

Martha’s Vineyard may not be known as an epicenter for jazz and blues music, but its talented musicians perform regularly at various venues throughout the year. Oak Bluffs’ The Port Hunter venue has long been recognized as an intimate setting perfect for live musical entertainment – perfect for enjoying live tunes at its best!

As well as hosting jazz and blues performances, the island also hosts numerous other musical and artistic events, including numerous schooner Amistad sailings during Juneteenth weekend to start an educational three-day program about slavery on the island. This vessel was specifically constructed to remember when slaves revolted and won their freedom through United States Supreme Court cases.
