Zac Brown Band is a multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning southern rock band. Their bassist John Driskell Hopkins provides a lean and tight approach that perfectly serves each song as well as providing opportunities to experiment when necessary.
Hopkins and Brown first met at a concert held at 3rd and Lindsley in Atlanta in 1998 and quickly formed a friendship that has persisted until this day. In 2004, they co-opened Zac’s Place restaurant/music club on Lake Oconee where they performed both country and jam band music.
Coy Bowles was an active member of Band Fellowship at that time when he invited Zac Brown Band to sit-in for one of their shows with him and they band Fellowship, where their performance went so well that the band asked Coy to come with them to their next performance where they recorded “Chicken Fried”.
